NTSB Conducts Forum on Truck and Bus Safety
On May 10 and 11, 2011, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) conducted a 2 day forum on truck and bus safety.  The forum, which took place in the NTSB board room in Washington DC, focused on issues including the oversight of truck and bus operations as well as driver safety.  With increasing congestion on the roads in major cities like Los Angeles, these issues are topical in Los Angeles and around the country.
The purpose of the forum was to improve public safety and review the progress that has been achieved over the course of the last ten years.  In attendance were representatives from federal and state agencies, unions, and the truck and bus industry.
The NTSB released a video that introduced some of the issues discussed at the forum.  The video can be viewed at http://youtu.be/3CehIPVkaCg.
